Reflections Art Contest

Bringing art to life across the nation to more than 10 million kids since 1969. And now, it’s your turn!

Reflections encourages children of all ages, grade levels and abilities to unleash their creativity and express themselves through art. This 50+ year-old, National PTA arts program helps them explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life.

“Show Your Voice...” is the theme for the 2022 program.

Students submit their completed works of art in one or all of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts. Students participate in the appropriate division for their grade: Primary (Pre-K - Grade 2), Intermediate (Grades 3-5), Middle School (Grades 6-8), High School (Grades 9-12), Special Artist (all grades welcome).

Student winners from the local level have the opportunity to move up through their district, region, council and state PTA programs to the national level. National Reflections winners are announced in May and celebrated throughout the following year, starting at National PTA's Convention in June. Scholarships are awarded to the top winners.

Artist Statement
Each submission must include an artist statement of no more than 100 words. This is the number one reason an art project of finger painting will beat out a Vincent Van Gogh every time. We are looking for their heart - the reason why they created this piece of art, music or dance and what it means to them in relation to the theme “I will change the world by…”.
